Black sesame seeds are small, flat, oily seeds that come from the sesame plant (Sesamum indicum). They have a nutty flavor and are often used in Asian cuisine. Compared to white sesame seeds, they are considered to have a richer flavor and a higher concentration of certain antioxidants.
